St. Lawrence University Welcomes Abbie Hale of Edwards to the Class of 2019

2015 Aug 6

St. Lawrence University welcomes Abbie J. Hale of Edwards to the Class of 2019. Hale attended Edwards-Knox Central School and intends to pursue a degree in neuroscience.

With more than 680 first-year students, the Class of 2019 will be one of the largest and most diverse in St. Lawrence's 159-year history. Thirty-eight percent of first-year students will come from New York State while another 55 percent will represent 33 other U.S. states. St. Lawrence also expects 50 first-year international students, who will represent 33 nationalities from around the globe. Classes begin Aug. 26.

Each first-year student participates in St. Lawrence University's innovative First-Year Program, one of the oldest living-learning programs in the country. The FYP helps students make successful transitions from high school to college. Students live together and are taught by faculty teams, developing the writing, speaking, and research skills needed for college. Students continue to develop these skills in a spring First-Year Seminar.
