Stew Hutchinson '23 spent his summer immersed in the workplace culture of eBay, putting his liberal arts experience to work while learning first-hand how a finance organization works at a major global company.

After spending his first semester of college abroad with St. Lawrence's First-Year Program in London, Blake Bittorf '25 arrived on campus ready to immerse himself in the North Country community.

After arriving at St. Lawrence for her first year, Berenice Gervacio '25 didn't waste any time starting to explore her career interests and embedding herself in her new community.

For Emilia Verdai-Davidson '23, meeting friendly cows, tending to verdant garden beds, and enjoying freshly harvested produce were only a few perks of their summer internships at the St. Lawrence County Cornell Cooperative Extension. As she dug into her passion for sustainable agriculture, she also fostered a deep understanding of the North Country community and personal career goals.

Charles Shaw spent his first summer after graduating embedded in the small business economy of St. Lawrence County-a place he's grown to call home over the past four years. He gained a deeper understanding of the area while exploring recreation areas, updating online information for tourists, working on resident recruitment strategies, and more.

Local students are among those selected to receive a St. Lawrence University Internship Fellowship Award. Established in 1997, the Internship Fellowship Award is designed to promote leadership and career development opportunities for undergraduate students. Awarded to a St. Lawrence University student who has secured an internship, including structured career development or research opportunities for the upcoming winter of summer break, this award is intended to help offset the cost of living and travel/transportation expenses incurred during the student's internship experience. Funds may also potentially cover income replacement if adequate need is demonstrated.
